Measuring your child for a balance bike

How to measure your child for a balance bike

Balance bikes come in a range of shapes and sizes so it can be hard to know which one is the right size for your child.

Children of the same age can be different sizes so it's hard to find a balance bike that is suitable and the correct size. When measuring a child for a balance bike, the most important measurement is the inside leg. This gives the best results when measuring your child for their new bike.

Top tips for measuring your child’s inside leg:

  1. Stand the child against a wall, ensuring they are wearing socks or have bare feet
  2. Place a small book between their legs
  3. Ask the child to step away from the wall and measure the distance from the top of the book to the floor in centimetres

Use this measurement to check against the specifications on our range of balance bikes to ensure you get the best balance bike for your child. The inside leg must not be less that the minimum saddle height. Our balance bikes are designed for kids as young as 18 months old and many of them come with adjustable handlebars and seats.
If you are still unsure about which balance bike is best for your child, please don't hesitate to get in touch and we will be happy to help.
